“(...) The (...) Jury ignored important names such
as Volker Koepp with his ‘Czernowitz,’ Andreas Veiel’s
‘Die Spielwütigen,’ and Andrzej Klamt and Ulrich Rydzewski,
whose two hour travel film, ‘Carpatia,’ was presented to an
international audience for the first time in Nyon. The beautiful countryside
footage of the Carpathian mountains encourages dreaming. The portraits of
lonesome mountain farmers and others that seek no contact to progress, bring
inspiration to the soul (...) there are carefully recorded travel destinations
throughout the middle of Europe.
